[]         I would like to volunteer with the following Committee:

[]        The Hospitality Committee which prepares a welcome basket for the family, helps orient them locally and culturally, provides opportunities for social interaction, and helps assess unmet needs.

[]        The Housing Committee which helps secure housing and helps prepare the apartment for the family prior to their arrival.

[]        The Acquisition Committee which ensures the family has household furnishings, one week’s worth of culturally appropriate perishable foods/staples, clothing and eventually perhaps a TV, radio, VCR, computer and car to be comfortable/productive in their new home.

[]        The Transportation Committee which provides the family with transportation to various appointments for at least the first 30 days after arrival.

[]        The Employment Committee which helps adults in the family secure employment by helping with job applications/resume, job counseling and transportation to interviews.

[]        The General Volunteers Committee which assists the family with attending ESOL classes, helps adults obtain a driver’s license with MRS approval and fills any unmet needs.

[]        The Finance Committee which assists with banking, insurance, tax and/or other financial concerns.

[]     I have rental property in the area which I may be willing to rent to this family. (Please contact me with more information.)

[]     I have computer skills which would be helpful in creating spread sheets for volunteers/tasks/resources.

[]     I have storage space which could be used to store furniture and/or other donations prior to move in day.

Please make the check out to St. Mary’s with “Family Assistance” in the memo line and turn in to the Parish Office.  NOTE: Any extra funds not needed by this family or another refugee family will be donated to Migration and Refugee Services of our diocese.
