Do You Have A Story To Share? -
In September 2008, Saint Mary of Sorrows will begin the celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the founding of this parish.
Our parish, initially a Mission of Saint Mary’s in Alexandria, was the first Catholic Church to be established in Fairfax County. As part of the celebration, we would like to compile and publish individual and/or family stories of their experience in the parish, and in particular, who attracted them to the parish or what made them become parishioners. The committee would like to document for posterity, in the words of current and past parishioners, staff, and clergy what makes Saint Mary of Sorrows the Church it is today. Although this is heads-up notice right now, you are invited to send your story to Ken Telesca at any time, preferably as a WORD document attachment to ktelesca1@verizon.net. If you are interested in working on this project please contact Ken through email.

Cars Needed - A family that St. Mary’s helped resettle in our area after Hurricane Katrina needs to replace the car that they were given by a parishioner. It needs repairs that are too expensive for the age of the vehicle. We also have had requests for cars for a parishioner and for another family being helped by St. Mary’s. If you can donate a car that is in good working order, please contact Pat Holliday, phholliday@yahoo.com or 703-978-2155.
