Knights of Columbus Scholarships St. Mary of Sorrows Knights of Columbus Council #8600 is pleased to announce that we will offer up to ten $750 scholarships this year. Applicants must be registered members of St. Mary of Sorrows Parish or a child, grandchild, or spouse of a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8600. Scholarships are to be used to pursue post-secondary school education. The applicant’s outstanding or inspirational contribution, active involvement in civic and/or religious activities, participation in extracurricular school activities, and academic endeavor are the factors which will be considered in awarding the scholarships. Applications and related materials must be received not later than April 30, 2008, to be considered. Applications are available here and in the Parish Center Office. |

John F. Devaney Scholarship Fr. Corby Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians is pleased to announce that we will offer a $1,000 John F. Devaney Scholarship this year. Applicants must be registered members of St. Mary of Sorrows Parish or a child, grandchild, or spouse of a member of Fr. Corby Division of the AOH. Scholarships are to be used for tuition only and are to be used to pursue post-secondary school education. The applicant’s outstanding or inspirational contribution, active involvement in civic and/or religious activities, participation in extracurricular school activities, and academic endeavor are the factors which will be considered in awarding the scholarships. Knights of Columbus Kelly Elizabeth Baker Memorial Scholarship Award St. Mary of Sorrows Knights of Columbus Council #8600 is pleased to announce the establishment of the annual Kelly Elizabeth Baker Memorial Scholarship Award in the amount of $1,500. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior, a daughter of an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8600. The Scholarship is to be used for college tuition. Criteria for Scholarship Award consideration include the applicant’s active involvement in civic and religious activities, participation in extracurricular school activities, academic achievements, emotional, spiritual and artistic development in their high school junior and senior years.
