May 27 – June 3, 2008 “Operation
Helping Hands” Bringing hope to those in hurricane-ravaged
Louisiana
Dates?
May 27 through June 3, 2008 - - Tuesday to Tuesday Who Can Go?
All College-Aged Young Adults, ages 18 – 22. (You do NOT need to be a
student!) Who is Hosting Us?
Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New Orleans What are we doing?
Assisting in the ongoing rebuilding efforts -- refinishing the homes of
residents How much does it cost to go?
Our only expenses will be some of our meals, bus fare and van rentals -- the
total cost for the entire week is $400/person, plus any spending money you wish
to bring – and after fundraising, your out-of-pocket cost could be close to
nothing. (Our lodging and main meals, as well as most of our tools and
materials, are being provided through the generosity of Catholic Charities). Fundraising?
Some of our volunteers send out a letter to relatives, friends, and businesses
to request donation funds – last year, those who did mailings received enough
donations to cover most, if not all, of the entire cost! How do I reserve my space?
Please obtain the Parish and Diocesan Registration Forms from the Youth Office
or the website. The deposit of $100 reserves a space and is non-refundable.
